Totally, the trip was awesome, as a honeymooners it certainely would be,the driver was so kindly, the car was in a very good condition, Indonesians are a very kind people, It was only that coward who sold me a SIM card with 30 $ . The hotels were great, only Villa Sonia at Ubud had a very weak WIFI signal in the room, Villa agung Seminyak , the crew weren't that kind especially the receptionist, may be because we were there for only one day. One last thing, I recommend for honeymooners Ubud and Seminyak more than Kuta, as we spent 3 days in Kuta which wasn't a right decision as it was so crowdy.

In mid-March I travelled to Java and Bali for 16 days. I had specific wishes, such as doing a jungle trek and following different cooking workshops, and I did not have much time in Indonesia to organize all this myself. Yet I wanted make all the necessary arrangements beforehand. This is where Better Places Travel came in. I discussed everything with their local travel expert, Emile, and together we designed a great program. Within a week the program was fully arranged. Once I was at the destination, I was able to enjoy the trip and didn’t have to think for a second about organization and logistics. Everything was perfectly arranged. I completely focused on all the beautiful nature and culture and enjoyed the great accommodations. I would recommend to anyone who wants a relaxed and well-organized holiday to create your trip together with Better Places Travel.

The climate is tropical all around the country. That means hot and humid all year round. Indeed, most of the country is covered with tropical rain forest. During the monsoon which runs in most part of the country from October to March, there is heavy rainfall but they usually don’t last more than 2 hours. Excellent diving can be found year round.

You will just need light clothes and a light sweatshirt if you plan on going to some of the mountains or volcanos. Indonesia is a Muslim country so every traveller should wear appropriate and respectful clothing especially when visiting temples and mosques. Bali is Hindu so you can dress how you like most of the time except in the Temples.

The Indonesian archipelago spreads over 5200km between the Asian mainland and Australia, all of it within the tropics, and comprises 17,000 islands. Its ethnic, cultural and linguistic diversity is correspondingly great – more than 500 languages and dialects are spoken by its 246 million people, whose fascinating customs and lifestyles are a major attraction. The largely volcanic nature of the islands has created tall cloud-swept mountains swathed in the green of rice terraces or rainforest, dropping to blindingly bright beaches and vivid blue seas, the backdrop for Southeast Asia’s biggest wilderness areas and wildlife sanctuaries. All of this provides an endless resource for adventurous trekking, surfing, scuba diving, or just lounging by a pool in a five-star resort.

loved their trip to Indonesia

It was our second trip to Indonesia (earlier one was in 2005). This time we concentrated on the history and culture of the land. The Hindu culture and architecture that permeate Java and Bali were very fascinating and we spent quite some time exploring many of the Hindu temples. Borobudur at sunrise was magnificent, but Mount Bromo at sunrise was not as great as it was hyped to be, perhaps because we did not have the best vantage point. Even at 3am it had become crowded by people waiting for sunrise! The trip to Komodo island was really worth it. We enjoyed Bali, too, but it has become overcrowded with tourists (like it has been for many years), more like some parts of Thailand. Still it has its own unique Balinese culture. The other big surprise was Indonesian food, one of the best we have tasted in our travels. Above all, the hospitality and friendliness of Indonesians was amazing. A trip that we will remember for a very long time to come.

This was a very intense trip lasting 18 days. We suggested our wishes and Xavier put together the itinerary. We visited Tanjung Pting National Park to see orang utans, Jogyakarta, Surabaya, Mount Bromo, Toraja country, Labuan Bajo, Komodo National parks, the Liang Bua cave in Flores and Bali. The itinerary was superbly coordinated for us to see the sites we wanted, with qualified drivers and guides throughout the trip. We saw many temples, places of natural beauty, a local market, a Toraja funeral ceremony, a music festival and so much more.

Beautiful Bali was an awesome trip which delves deeper into Bali’s roots. There are many amazing places on this island if you are willing to venture a little into the unknown. Sidemen and Mt Batur in particular were trip highlights!
